Spring Time Goodness

Posted on April 5th, 2014

It's shaping into a beautiful spring day in the sun here.

Mostly cloudy, with a high near 37. West wind 10 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 40 mph possible at times on the Summit. 40% chance of scattered snow showers after 11am. Total daytime snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Chairlifts in Operation

All Chairs in operation today, as well as the Pika Peak and #100LAPS rope tows (#100LAPS rope tow is on a delay this morning until about 12:30).

Skookum will beclosed for the NW Cup finals race. Riders right of lower Katsuk will be closed fo rthe Bomber Banked Slalom. There will be no access to Lip Lip/Tumwater from the bottom of Katsuk as well.

Check out the grooming report for full details on groomed runs and open terrain.

Surface Conditions

Upper mountain groomed runs are in good packed powder form. As you make your way down to mid-mountain, conditions transition to nice spring corn snow. The corduroy will begin the morning well set up and soften to spring conditions by lunch.

Off-piste areas in the sun softened up pretty nicely yesterday. Shaded and wind exposed areas remained firmer. Expect variable conditions off of the groomed runs to become more spring-like over the course of the day.

Ski and ride with care as unmarked obstacles do exist. Always enjoy the mountain with a partner to share the fun and stay safe.
