Snowing At Midway And Above

Posted on March 14th, 2014

As of 7:30 a.m. it is snowing from Midway up to the Summit. A light main/mist is falling at the Base Area, but temps are trending down so I am hopeful that it will turn to the white stuff before long.

Snow likely, mainly before 11am. Cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 34. West wind 25 to 35 mph today, with gusts as high as 55 mph possible at times on the Summit.

Chairlifts in Operation

Chairs 1, 2, and 3 in operation today, as well as the Pika Peak and #100LAPS rope tows.

95 percent of our trails are open, with Skookum and Tillikum runs closed for the Western Region Open FIS Race. Check out the grooming report for full details on groomed runs and open terrain.

Surface Conditions

Temps were a little milder last night than the night before, leaving groomed runs a little softer this morning. Expect well set up groomed runs to hold a good edge and soften as the day progresses, especially with the possibility of fresh snow. Conditions at the Base Area and Mimi are very soft and moist, but things firm up by the time you get to the top of Chair 1.

Off-piste conditions will start out rather firm and become more variable depending on accumulation of new snow and traffic.

Ski and ride with care as unmarked obstacles do exist. Always enjoy the mountain with a partner to share the fun and stay safe.
