Blue Skies, Merry Groomers

Posted on December 24th, 2013

Beautiful morning up here, with blue skies and some gorgeous groomed runs. A touch of new snow (not as much as we hoped for, but still a sight for sore eyes) yesterday freshend up the surfaces. Stick to chair 2 terrain this morning... we didn't groom Chair 3 terrain last night to try to save the thin snowpack. This snow reporter chanced it, and the ungroomed runs are defnitely chattery. Wait until the sun hits it and has a chance to soften it up.

Cool and clear in the morning with lots of sun and a high near 33 degrees by afternoon. West wind around 10 mph. Gusts of 15-25 mph possible at times on the Summit.

Surface Conditions

Groomed runs are about as good as they get at the top of the mountain. Conditions off the groomed runs are variable with a mix of wind deposited powder, packed powder, and hard packed snow (and the occasionaly rock or stick poking out).

Please be aware that early season conditions and coverage still exist. Be careful when off the groomed runs and respect rope lines. They are there for your safety.

Chairlifts and Terrain

Chairs 1, 2, and 3 will be in operation today as well as the Pika Peak and #100LAPS Rope Tows.

In order to maintain the integrity of the runs, no runs off of Chair 3 will be groomed today due to below average snowpack and lack of significant recent snow.

Ticket Prices

Lift tickets will be to $45 for adults, $35 for ages 7-24 and 62-69 and $10 for ages 6& under and 70+ to reflect the limited opening of chairlifts and terrain.
