4/5/25 Conditions Report

10:00 Conditions Update: While other resorts are telling you to “Ski It While You Can” I think the condies just keep getting better. Maybe the bright sun is curing my seasonal depression, but I think it’s these sugary turns. Tele turns feel real nice on the smooth groomers, which are softening nicely in the sun. Shady areas are taking their time. That’s okay- I’ll wait for them. Off-piste is definitely variable. I made it three turns in one area before cutting back to the groomer because it was chundery and hard but other areas are softening in the sun. Conditions can be variable so make sure to feel out your tracks before diving in. Somehow the sugar snow turns to velvet that has this nice weightless friction that is supremely carveable. It’s warm, it’s calm, it’s bright, we’re about to start destroying art projects mounted on skis. There’s no excuse- Ski It While You Can.

6:30 Conditions Report: Some things to look forward to today, comfortable temperatures, calm conditions, lifts live until 6, and sending some dummies down the hill. That’s right, today is Dummy Downhill! It’s going to be a beautiful spring day for it, with part sun in the forecast. Expect the groomers to start the day firm and soften as the sun and temperatures rise. It’s going to create this wonderful playful sugary texture to the snow on top of the base and I think there’s some fun turns to be found out there. I reckon off-piste will be similar with sunny areas softening over time and shaded areas staying firmer. Come on up and get some sunny spring laps before the main event!
