10:00 Conditions Update:Â Wow! The mountain is skiing fantastically both on- and off-piste and greatly exceeded my expectations. The corduroy is in perfect condition for digging into a deep carve, with last week’s snow worked smoothly into the surface. Off-piste conditions remain great in sheltered areas, and I was able to snag several completely untracked turns off Windy Ridge. Packed powder dominates, with powder stashes still persisting, and possibly some crusted or sun-affected areas at lower elevations and southerly aspects. Skies are mostly cloudy and the visibility at the summit is moderate as clouds move in before likely snowfall this afternoon. The day is already great, and we’re optimistic about picking up and inch or two before the day is out to top things off perfectly. We’ll see you out there!
6:30 Conditions Report: Snow is back in the forecast today, with the chance for a couple new inches this afternoon! It’s gonna be a great day on the mountain, with groomers starting the day in crisp, velvety condition before the potential for a refresh later in the day. Off-piste areas will be variable in condition; after 13 inches of new snow last week, there’s lots of soft areas remaining out there for those willing to explore, especially off of Chair 2 and out the Windy gate. More accessible areas have been tracked out to reveal the firmer base, and south-facing aspects have been affected by the sun over the last couple days. We’re stoked to get a refresh this afternoon and overnight headed into tomorrow, which should only improve things.
Today is the third day of Spirit Week, and we’re looking forward to seeing your outfits for Band T-Shirt Day! Come out to rep your favorite artist and get some laps in as we wait to welcome in the new snow!
