10:00 Conditions Update:Â What a good morning it has been, indeed. There is a gorgeous diffuse light over our classic uncrowded slopes, leaving views deep into the valley. Visible from the calm summit, Mount Rainier wears a crown of clouds in the distance. The groomed runs are smooth and skiing well, with a sensitive feel. It’s a great day to really find those edges. The snow has a granular quality and forms a layer of sluff as it gets skied. Off piste is variable and firm, so make sure to feel out your tracks before committing to your line. The mountain waits!
6:30 Conditions Report: Good morning riders! We’re looking at more comfortable temps and breezy conditions, with a few clouds to temper the sun and tease us with the promise of fresh. There’s a chance we will receive a dusting of snow after the resort closes today. The summit and Midway stayed below freezing overnight, but the base got a little warm. Expect edgeability across the mountain with variable conditions based on elevation and wind and sun exposure. I imagine off-piste hasn’t changed much from yesterday, a little stashy and mostly firm. I’m excited to really carve up these uncrowded weekday slopes!
