2/22/25 Conditions Report

10:00 Conditions Update: I just got in from a top to bottom run from Tumwater down Nertz to Chili Fries and I had a great time! The summit is a foggy wonderland, with snowy trees marching into the distance in every direction. I found the snow heavier than we’ve seen this season which added a nice friction and a technical feel to my turns. The fog is crowning the mountain, so I dropped out of it almost immediately and visibility improved with the increased light. Going off the groomed runs, I found the weighty, techy snow to be a stimulating addition to the moguls on Nertz. Off-piste, that friction really locked my skis into my line. At lower elevations, there is a tiny crust on top of the groomers which made carving feel sweet. It’s what I call “bathtub weather” in the valley, with an inversion layer locking the Columbia River Valley all the way past Entiat under a layer of rolling clouds. It’s one of my favorite views from The Ridge. Conditions are good, so dress for the weather and we’ll see you up here!

6:30 Conditions Report: The weekend is here, and it’s brought with it the start of some potentially wild weather. We’ve received 3” of new snow in the last 24 hours near the summit and 0.5” at the Base Area. Temps have warmed up this morning with some mixed precipitation across the mountain and a light rain seen early this morning at Base elevation. Look for surface conditions to vary today between powder near the summit and wet snow at lower elevations. The forecast is calling for above-freezing temps to persist throughout the day and into night skiing, so snow should stay on the softer side throughout the day.

We’ll see you on the mountain!
