Opening Day 11/27!

Are we going to open tomorrow (Saturday 11/21)? Unfortunately no. We gave it a great shot but the conditions are not quite there to open. Our mountain operations teams have been working their tails off and not opening is certainly not due to lack of effort on their part. Why aren’t we opening tomorrow? Mainly the conditions due to the low snow conditions on the lower mountain, Mimi off of Chair 1 specifically.  We did not receive enough snow in that last storm to provide a safe route off of the mountain. Snowmaking operations will have snow built on Mimi next week, but not in time for this weekend.

Final Day is Sunday

Today was a fun day and a great snapshot of the season. We did not have as much snow as we wanted. The winds were stronger than we would have liked. We had limited terrain and had to make last minute changes to our operations. But despite all of this, we had fun. There was great slalom racing down Tumwater and fresh turns on Maggie. The winds on top were strong, but everyone kept on smiling, skiing, and riding. We had fun because it is great to be up in the mountains playing in the snow. The more snow the better, but any snow is far better than none at all. Mission Ridge is a community of friends, families, and strangers all drawn together by the pursuit of fun that sliding down a snowy slope provides. Tomorrow will be the last day of operations for the 2014/15 Season and the first day of the 2015/16 Season. We want to thank everyone in the Mission Ridge Family for always making the most out of every adventure. It certainly was not the season we had hoped for, but those moments experienced by the individual and those shared with friends, family, and strangers puts a cheezy grin on our faces. Mission Ridge is an amazing place in part because of it's terrain, quality of snow, and proximity to town. But most importantly, it is the most amazing place because of it's people. I'm looking forward to giving it one last go, and sure can't wait to... See you on the hill! -Tony
