10:00 Conditions Update: With the sun shining brightly overhead, it is a gorgeous day to cruise the slopes. The base is soft and smooth, with slightly firmer snow in areas of sun. Those patches should homogenize as the day progresses. Off-piste is bouncy and smooth in places and firm in others, so make sure to feel out your tracks before you dive right in. I skied the Chair 3 lift line top to bottom and found the consistency of the snow to be just to my preferences, frictive without being sticky or burying my tips. The places that got a little more sun were firmer, just like the groomers, but I expect that to soften throughout the day under the sun. I’m finding these conditions to be great to learn tele-turns, and I think you’ll love therm too, so explore the slopes under the sun!
6:30 Conditions Report: Clear, calm and comfortable is the forecast for today! Conditions should be spring-like, with the base staying soft overnight due to above freezing temperatures. Expect variable conditions off piste as the weather has been dynamic. The base snow should be a little softer, but any leftover stashes from the storm earlier this week should have cured into a dense packable snow. We’re excited to welcome the athletes, coaches, and supporters for the first day of this weekend’s Special Olympics games. It’s gonna be a great weekend and we’re excited to cheer on these athletes. The sun is already casting her rays across the mountain and it is shaping up to be a beautiful day on The Ridge. With chairs spinning until 9pm, it’s a great day to grab a few laps to ease yourself into the weekend!
