The countdown is over, and snowmaking for the 2024/25 season is officially underway! As the calendar flips from October to November, snowmaking operations can officially get started on The Ridge. The Mission Ridge Snowmaking (MRSM) crew has been chomping at the bit to kick things off and start laying that all-important base for the season. Conditions allowed for guns to fire on the upper third of Tumwater and Sunspot overnight and during the day. As long as conditions allow, MRSM will work around the clock making snow!

Looking to access the mountain prior to the start of the season?
Due to the complexity and variability of our pre-opening mountain setup and snowmaking operations we are currently closed to any uphill skiing, snowshoeing or hiking in the areas and runs as indicated on the early season map found on the Uphill Policy page (linked below). Run/area closure status may change at any time.
Closed runs/areas are: Tumwater, Sunspot, Mimi
Ski touring (up or down the ski area), snowshoeing, or hiking within these zones of the ski area is prohibited. At this time of year things change rapidly and the mountain operations departments are working hard to get us ready to open. The safety of the public and our staff during this timeframe is our top concern. If in doubt – stay out.**
For more information, review the current status of the Uphill Policy at the link below.
